Held March 24-25, 2015 at Data & Society, the I&A Forum was an in-person intensive working session that used scenarios drawn from science fiction as a means of bringing together experts from a variety of different sectors to identify the common recurring problems in the intelligence systems space. The forum brought together participants working on intelligent systems in capital markets, warfare, transportation, labor, urban design, journalism, medicine, and beyond.
To develop these scenarios, I&A collaborated with four science fiction authors to produce narratives which tackled different aspects of the rise of intelligent systems. Below you can download and read these stories by Madeline Ashby, Gideon Lichfield, Guy Phillipe-Goldstein and Robin Sloan, with illustrations by Rebecca R. Rojer.
